14 Mar Victoria Park London Wedding Photographer
Fancy getting married in your local park? When Niamh and Matt revealed they were getting married in the beautiful Victoria Park London Wedding I jumped at the chance to shoot their day. Matt’s Dad is a minister so who better to lead the outdoor ceremony than under a beautiful copper arch Niamh and Matt had commissioned by someone on Etsy. It was then expertly adorned with the most gorgeous flowers by Petalon.
I kicked off the day by joining Niamh, her family and her bridesmaids and bridesman at Town Hall Hotel where hair and make up by Be You Weddings before we all got in a Tuk Tuk – yes a Tuk Tuk! (more on that later) to The Glade at Victoria Park. I haven’t been in a Tuk Tuk since being in South East Asia and they are so much fun!
Niamh and Matt had decided that they weren’t traditional wedding car types of people so they opted for a Tuk Tuk. After I had arrived at The Glade is wasn’t long till you heard (yes heard) Niamh make her grand entrance of the very distinctive ‘tuktuktuktuktuktuk’ sound growing closer and closer as you saw the Bride and her Dad arriving. It also proved to be one of the funniest moments of the day as Niamh and Matt tried to make their grand exit after the ceremony before realising they were travelling at about 1mph and the guests were in fact walking faster than them!
After the beautiful outdoor ceremony everyone had a drink or two in The Glade with food provided by Ginger Jar and were serenaded by an awesome steel band whilst Niamh, Matt and I went for a walk around the park. If you follow this link you will see a previous post I have written about how I like to simply go for a walk instead of any formal posing couple photographs.
It was such a gorgeous day and I absolutely loved documenting how excited Niamh and Matt were knowing that they had JUST GOT MARRIED!!
We all then walked (or travelled in the very slow tuk tuk) to Bistroteque which is a stunning warehouse wedding venue with the most spectacular food and wedding cake by Fondant Fox. The whole day was expertly organised by Sarah at Emerald and Mae and I swear it was her that keep the showers at bay throughout!
I seriously loved every element of this day. The outdoor ceremony in your local park vibe, your Dad conducting the service vibe, the relaxed warehouse restaurant reception vibe and not to mention Niamh’s incredible Sabina Mottesan top and Leanne Marshall dress which created the floaty vibe and topped off, literally, with a flower crown. I know I say it quite often but once again this wedding ticked so many laidback, fun, floaty, outdoor ceremony wedding vibes.
I photographed Jen and Tom’s wedding quite a few years ago now and this was the 4th or even 5th time I had the absolute pleasure of photographing another of their friends weddings. Not only do they have the most beautiful friends with the most beautiful weddings but it means I get to see them every year and this year is no exception as next up is Sophie and Joe in June!!
